Juhu Beach, Mumbai, India – Insider Tips

Things to Do in Mumbai: Juhu Beach

Juhu Beach is known for its beauty, which is why there are a variety of resorts and mansions in the area. However, there are insider tips, reviews and photos for you to discover more about the things to do in Juhu Beach apart from the more status quo.

Experience the Waters

Known for its shallow and calm waters, the beach here can be extremely relaxing after all the hustle of Mumbai. Neither the water nor the people surrounding you will make you feel rushed or frantic, so you can just enjoy the sounds and the gentle laps of the water against your feet. People come here to walk, pray, play sports and just dunk their toes in the water. While it can get crowded, the water is generally cleaner than in other parts of the city.

 Street Food, Restaurants, and Nightlife

This is a spot that is known for being where the wealthy come for more peace and quiet than Mumbai. However, that doesn’t mean that this city is boring. On the weekends especially, you’ll find crowds of people who have come to to test their hand at beach cricket, or just to experience the carnival-like atmosphere. Depending on when you come, you can find fortune tellers, rides, toy vendors and yarn spinners all around the beach. You can’t miss trying the street food here either, as they’re known for delicious food, served hot and fresh in the most convenient of ways. Try their Bhelpuri, made from puffed rice, vegetables and tamarind and served spicy. Or stop by one of the fancier restaurants here, so you can try different spins on their classic  dishes. If you want a more relaxing atmosphere, it’s recommended you go during the weekdays.

Go to Holi

There’s nothing like experiencing Holi in India. If you can make this one-of-a-kind, once-a-year event, you won’t regret it. This explosion of color is celebrated in all its glory with people of every age letting their hair down for a little fun. Known as the color war, you can get in on the action in Juhu Beach if you go at the right time in March.
