In October, JetBlue began charging a

    penalty fee

for bags over 50 pounds. Now it's rolling that fee back—but just for the holidays.

    The airline is

    waiving

the baggage fee ($20) for bags weighing up to 60 pounds. The waived fee applies to customers checking bags through January 3.

    In other JetBlue news:

    • Frequent flyers can also earn two TrueBlue points by checking in online through January 4.
    • The Renaissance Chicago O'Hare Suites Hotel is marking JetBlue's new service to and from Chicago by offering a 10 percent discount from January 1 through March 31 to JetBlue flyers.
