JetBlue and American announced they will add new destinations to their interline agreement, and link up their respective mileage programs. The agreement, initially unveiled in March, allows customers to connect domestic JetBlue flights and international American flights via Boston and New York City. The new destinations include one international city, Budapest, and nine domestic cities.
Here are all of the destinations included, with new cities in italics:
- JetBlue: Baltimore, Buffalo, Charlotte, Denver, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Newark, Orlando, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, San Francisco, Washington (Dulles), Washington (Reagan), West Palm Beach
- American: London (Heathrow), Paris
Via New York (JFK):
- JetBlue: Burlington, Buffalo, Denver, Ft. Myers, Houston (Hobby), Jacksonville, New Orleans, Nantucket, Phoenix, Portland (Maine), Portland (Oregon), Richmond, Rochester, Salt Lake City, Sarasota, Syracuse, Washington (Dulles), Washington (Reagan), West Palm Beach
- American: Barcelona, Brussels, Budapest, Buenos Aires, London, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Sao Paulo, Tokyo (Haneda), Tokyo (Narita), Zurich
The nine new JetBlue markets will be available for booking starting December 10 on American’s website, but all other routes can be booked now.
Effective immediately, AAdvantage members can earn miles on the 26 JetBlue markets included, and TrueBlue members can do the same on American’s 15 markets. Mileage accrual is based on the member’s program’s rules. The mileage agreement is particularly lucrative for JetBlue customers, who presently have few mileage-earning options outside JetBlue flights and the JetBlue American Express card.
