    JetBlue has

    started

    flying its

    previously announced

new route between New York (JFK) and Jacksonville, the airline's sixth Florida destination. It will fly three daily nonstops between the two cities, with everyday fares ranging from $99 to $299 each way.

Jacksonville becomes the 38th city to be served by JetBlue. In addition to the New York/Jacksonville route, Jacksonville residents can now connect to more than 20 of JetBlue's other destinations.

In a related move that is almost certainly

    not

coincidental, American Airlines' regional affiliate, American Eagle,

    says

it too will add service between New York and Jacksonville—flying out of LaGuardia instead of JFK, however. That service begins September 6.
