One of the most popular reasons to visit Icmeler is its stunning beach. Occupying the southernmost part of the Marmarais Bay, Icmeler beach offers clear waters and fine sand. Locals living in the city of Marmaris, seven miles north, will tell you that they prefer to take the short trip south to Icemeler to avoid the crowds. Marmaris beach is generally overcrowded with deck chairs and there isn't much space to walk along the beach; the beach in Icmeler is less crowded and equally nice. The Dolmus bus is a good public transportation option for traveling between Marmaris and Icmeler.

The market in the center of Icmeler, held on Wednesdays, is popular with travelers. A large grocery market with exotic fruits and vegetables as well as colorful clothes and jewelry lures travelers from the beach. Prices get cheaper as you go deeper into the market.

The water taxi up the legendary Agean Coast of Marmaris Bay costs just a few Lira. Alternately, you can set out on the seven-mile walk between Icmeler and Marmaris, which takes about two hours. It's considered a safe walking route for travelers.
