Two hotel chains—Hyatt at the higher end, Choice Hotels in the value category—are currently offering members of their frequent-stay programs a free night after two stays completed by November 30.

Since a stay may consist of a single night, travelers can in theory earn a free night after two paid nights, meaning this is essentially a buy-two-get-one-free deal. As promotions go, that's pretty rich.

    To qualify for the

    Hyatt offer

, Gold Passport members must charge the paid stays to a MasterCard. Free nights must be used between September 15, 2007 and January 31, 2008. (Note that AmeriSuites and Hawthorn Suites hotels are not part of this promotion.)

    In the

    Choice promotion

, members of the Choice Privileges program earn 8,000 points for every two qualifying stays—enough for a free night at more than 1,000 hotels in the Choice network (Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites or Suburban Extended Stay hotels).
