Carpe Diem is the biggest, most exciting club in Hvar. It’s open from the day until late at night, and you should definitely dress to impress. There’s a beach club on a boat just outside of the club too. Plan to spend a bit, because it’s pricey. After 1:30 a.m. a lot of people go to Veneranda, which is a club nearby. A lot of people hang out at a local bar called Kiva as well. If you find yourself still awake when the morning comes around, then there’s a bar called the Cofè In on the main square that is known to serve an excellent breakfast. You can also get an aperitif there any time of day.

The Mediterranean nights are usually gorgeous, so it’s quite common for people to buy a drink or two from the surrounding stores and spend the evening sitting on the seawall and hanging out around the plaza. You can be sure of plenty of company with a relaxed atmosphere, and the town square is always open. This is one of the surest places to meet locals.

Natural Nightlife

Hvar and the rest of the Croatian Islands are only sparsely populated, and the vast majority of the people who vacation here come for the nature and the relaxation. Skygazers particularly enjoy Hvar, because the southern exposures of the island are almost entirely free of light pollution. Stunning views of the stars and the moon abound, and you might be surprised by how many other stargazers you will find. A short hike over the hills will reward you with a panorama like no other, and the sunsets over the Adriatic Sea are known to be consistently spectacular.
