Tungtamen night market is located near the end of Zhongshan Road, next to Pacific Park. Visitors to the area can buy food or play games, and there’s definitely a festive atmosphere that makes this a fun place to visit. These games involve hitting cadrs or balloons with darts, or shooting at targets. Although you can buy merchandise at the market, many people come just for the entertainment. While you’re there, try and stop at the northern entrance, which consists of a very interesting arch. The arch has two posts with several intricate wooden characters carved into each side. It definitely makes an interesting feature to take photos of.
The Holy Temple on Jinfeng Street is near the bridge that crosses the river to the Martyrs Shrine. There are dragons and other interesting figures on the roof that are worth seeing and getting pictures of. Inside, there are also elaborate statues to admire. If you’re looking for something more modern, there’s an interesting railway museum and park in the region as well. This museum focuses on the history of the rail lines that were built in this area.
