Hoi An Transportation – Taxi, Train, Bus & Airport Trips

South of Da Nang, Hoi An is one of the most beautiful cities in Vietnam, and it has a history that goes back more than 2000 years. It was one of the most important ports of the Cham Kingdom because it facilitated the spice trade with Indonesia, and now it’s one of the most culturally rich centers of the world.

The closest airport is in Da Nanh, and it has flights to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue – all of which are flown through Vietnam Airways. It also has international flights going to and from Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Cambodia. You can also book charter flights to and from China.

You can get a taxi to Hoi An straight from the airport, which should cost you about $22 American. But you might be able to haggle for a cheaper fare. You can also book a private car to your hotel for about $17 American, and you can get a driver who can speak English.

Bus and Train Routes

While there is no train station in Hoi An, there are two bus stations that can take you to the old part of town for 10-15,000 dong, and you can get to and from Da Nang for about 20,000 dong. Drivers may try to charge you 50,000 dong or more, and some of the locals may try to support the scam by saying they pay the same price. Be sure to stand your ground, and insist on the fare.
