Driving Your Own Vehicle vs. Hiring a Vehicle

In Pakistan, car hire is available from major airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and more. Islamabad is the closest major city to Naran. From Islamabad, Naran is about 250 kilometers and a six-hour drive by car. Mansehra makes a good halfway point for this drive.
If you’re driving your own car, it’s important to make note of the fact that petrol tends to be more expensive in Naran than it is in larger cities. It’s a good idea to fill up your tank in Mansehra before heading on to Naran. Also, beware of cattle along the roadways when you’re driving out in rural areas.

Roads to scenic destinations around Naran, like Saiful Maluk and Salazar, tend to be rugged. Therefore, jeep hire is one of the only options for getting around.
Ideally, you will hire your own jeep and can handle the rugged roadways around Naran in your own private vehicle. You can reach Lulusar Lake by taking the Naran-Chillas Road.
