Traverse City's primary crop is cherries, and every summer there's a popular cherry festival. It has all the cherries, cherry flavored products, and local wines you could want. There's also live entertainment, events for senior citizens and children, and various contests.

Traverse City is home to over a dozen wineries, and many have tasting rooms. Visitors love spending an afternoon or two driving between the wineries, enjoying the scenery and local wines.

There are several ways to enjoy Traverse City and nearby Leland's beautiful scenery. Many visitors enjoy strolling or biking by the historic Grand Traverse Lighthouse, the cherry blossoms that bloom in May, Clinch Park, and on the Boardman Lake and TART Trails.
