Beaches
There are many reasons people like to come to Rosarito, and the beaches are definitely one of them. The grayish, white-sandy beaches are the main draw for the region. During the summer, they are totally packed. During the winter, it’s not as crowded, but you will still see many vendors out there, people riding horses, or ATVs driving along the coast. There are certain spots for camping out on the beach, surfing, or just laying out. These beaches are also popular places for beach parties, swimming, and spring-break celebrations. Daytime activities also include golf, tennis, and surfing.
Tours go to both Ensenada and Rosarito Beach, and provide you with enough time to walk around and take pictures. You’ll also find places to enjoy a margarita or two, as well as spots to grab a snack. Running along the beach is a long boardwalk that stretches out in front of the Rosarito Beach Hotel and provides a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. There are many restaurants along the boardwalk that you’ll be able to visit, and plenty of places to take photographs.
History
Visitors looking to get away from the beach will find that the Wa-Kuatay Rosaritos Historical Museum is a fun place to pass the time. This is a small museum that is very easy to miss. Admission is free, and though the building is very small, you’ll be able to see a few artifacts from around the area. Notably, there is even a mammoth tusk on display that was found near Ensenada. You can explore a different type of history by taking the Foxploration tour. This tour explores how movies are made and why movie directors chose Rosarito as a filming location.
