Frontier announced a series of fee changes today, and for once, the news is good. The airline is lowering some charges and completely eliminating one fee, and while bag fees are not involved, the changes should make Frontier passengers happy.
Here’s a rundown of the changes, all of which are effective immediately:
- The addition of advanced seat assignments at time of booking for Economy AirFairs customers.
- A reduction in the same-day confirmed change fee from $100 to $50 for Economy.
- Elimination of the $25 ticketing service fee for travel purchased through the reservations call center and airport ticket counters.
- Access to the Best Care Club in Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport for Classic Plus customers on same day of travel.
Frontier says it “spent a lot of time listening to our valued guests and learning what would make the Frontier travel experience even better,” and promises more changes to come. “These are the first of many improvements you’ll see as we continue to integrate with our partner, Midwest Airlines, and develop a single branded carrier operating under the Frontier Airlines name.”
Indeed, these changes will benefit customers immediately. All economy passengers now have the ability to select their seat at the time of booking, and the two fee changes increase flexibility across the board. Now if only Frontier would get rid of those pesky bag fees …
Readers, what do you think about Frontier’s move? Does this make you more likely to fly with the carrier in the future?
