Fraser Island sits off the coast of Australia and is an inviting destination for tourists. Before visiting, keep in mind a few tips about clothing, supplies, and what to pack.
If you’re planning to camp in the area, backpacks are the best idea unless you are staying at a resort. You’ll also want to be prepared for all sorts of weather. A waterproof jacket is a good idea if it looks like it will be rainy, and a good pair of walking boots is recommended for all conditions. Bring a few pairs of socks, since there are creeks all over the place. Also, don’t forget to bring a waterproof tent.
Camping on the island can be a humid and rainy affair. However, if you’re staying along the beach, don’t forget a good pair of sandals to help you enjoy the soothing ocean shoreline.
Clothes to Pack
You absolutely need a camping permit if you wish to camp on the Island and a car permit if you will be driving. This will come in an information pack you get before you arrive on the island. You will not be allowed to visit otherwise.
Staying on the island can sometimes be rainy, but also very sunny under different conditions. Bring lots of sunscreen along with you, and don’t forget some repellant to keep the mosquitos away. You’ll also want to bring a good digital camera and extra batteries, particularly if you’re spending extended time camping.
