Fivesse Beach Bag Review
Price and Where to Buy Fivesse Beach Bag: $86 on Fivesse and $69 on Amazon
Pros: This is a great bag for people who love to be organized. Both the tote version and the backpack style have pockets for essential beach items like sunglasses, sunscreen, and beach reading. There are also exterior pockets protect more fragile items like seashells and snacks. The bag’s interior spaces are lined in a water-resistant material that’s easy to wipe clean and doesn’t collect sand. The straps are soft and comfortable. And the three fabric patterns have a ton of personality.
Cons: The beach bag is touted as having enough room to pack for a family trip to the beach, but fitting towels for a crowd in this bag would be a challenge. After I got this bag, I started to look for small-rolling alternatives to the usual bulky beach towels and found there’s a whole world of options out there. But to effectively pack for multiple people using this bag, you would likely need to think carefully through your supply list before you go. In a way, that seems entirely appropriate though, since Fivesse’s philosophy has everything to do with design that fosters organized efficiency.
How Fivesse Beach Bag Rates:
- Usefulness: 10/10. This bag is all about being useful. Its pockets (labeled with icons for quick recognition) make it easy to find what you need. The water-resistant material keeps electronics protected and makes post-beach cleaning a breeze.
- Value: 9/10. The pricing is on par with a purse of a similar size. And that seems fair since it offers a comparable level of style and organization plus extra features specifically for beach goers.
- Durability: 9/10. This bag feels sturdy. The stitching appears strong, the zippers move fluidly, and the fabric is durable.
- Cool Factor: 10/10. I’m an organizational nut, and I love the icon-labeled pockets (no need to remember in which pocket you stashed what). The patterns are playful and beach-inspired—think octopi and coral.
Final Verdict: If you are the type of person who thinks a plastic grocery bag is the ultimate beach tote, this one is going to seem overdesigned. However, if you love being able to pack an organized bag and find everything easily on the go, you will have a long and happy relationship with this one. Just note that if you’re planning on packing for multiple beach-goers, you’ll probably want to carry beach towels separately or buy yourself a few small-packing towels to stash in the bag (this product review inspired an upcoming round-up of small-packing beach towels, so stay tuned for that).
