Farecast, the airfare-prediction website, added international capabilities last week. Users can now search for fare predictions for travel to and from Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, in addition to the site’s predictions on popular routes within the U.S.
So far, Farecast’s Canada routes are limited. The site can only predict fares to and from Calgary for four cities, five cities for Vancouver, and seven cities for Montreal. Toronto has the best prediction capabilities, with 15 cities currently available.
Even with its current limitations, I’m pleased to see Farecast begin to expand internationally. Though the site’s predictions were only 50 percent accurate in my initial investigation, Farecast now reports a 75-percent accuracy rate based on a third-party investigation. My fingers are crossed that Farecast will add more international cities soon, preferably popular destinations in Europe, Mexico, or the Caribbean.
