My European vacation was a winner, Aug-Sep 2010. 33 days divided between Helsinki (my home)the White City of the north. London, Tallinn, Amsterdam.
Helsinki with it’s Southarbour open air market where you can buy just about anything, from crafts, those ladies are doing wonders with their knitting needles to smoked salmon. The foodstands with pictures of displayed plates, so, easy ordering. Food cooked by pretty ladies in huge pans, fresh and tasty from fried smelt to paella.
Daytrips to Estonia, Tallinn, fron Helsinki, on fast hydrofoils that take 90 minutes to cross, or cruiseships, more fun with all things to do onboard, from dancing to sauna, these take 4 hours to cross the Suomenlahti. London, where I have lived years, seems I always en up doing a tourguiding for people who were there first time. The tubes, busses were for them the most difficult hurdle, complicated as it is, then finding all those fabulous places, many adventures on the way.
Amsterdam, so pretty, tulips everywhere, The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, canal cruise, the Schipol airport, I give it a 2 thumbs up, as well as the Vantaa Helsinki one. January will be here in no time, time to start planning…
