Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Author: Sue Hamby, PhD
Date of Trip: June 2013

Just returned from 3 day trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and wanted to share some recommendations. Our main purpose in visiting the area was to attend the Passion Play. It was wonderful and is highly recommended. Also, we attended Opera of Ozarks and saw Madame Butterfly. It was amazing how professional the opera singers were. It was almost like being at Sydney Opera House except it was outside.

Also visited Thorncrown Chapel that is free and definitely should be seen if in the area. We stayed at Heartstone Inn which is a wonderful bed and breakfast that serves the most delicious gourmet breakfasts that I have ever tasted. It was worth the trip just to experience Heartstone. It has been rated top B&B breakfast for Ozarks. I believe it could easily qualify as top B&B for U.S. Also, be sure and visit Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, Ark as it is a wonderful art museum that is free. It is complimentary because of WalMart Foundation.
