Eindhoven Things To Do
Eindhoven is a city in southern Netherlands. Between its museums, diverse culture, and historic buildings, you’ll find plenty to do during your stay.
Museums aren’t hard to find in Eindhoven. The Historical Open Air Museum is unique in that, as its name would suggest, most of it is located outside. For a small fee, individuals can tour the museum grounds and learn how ancient people used to make wooden arrows, bake bread, and forge iron. Another popular stop is Museum Kempenland, which features paintings, sculptures, photographs, and furniture from past residents of the city and surrounding areas. If you’re a modern art enthusiast, don’t forget to visit Abbemuseum. Focusing on modern and contemporary art from the 20th century to modern times, its exhibits include such greats as Picasso, Chagall, and El Lissitzky.
While in Eindhoven, take a trip to Phillips Stadium and cheer on the home team. PSV Eindhoven, one of the premier football clubs in the Netherlands, is a hot ticket, so book your tickets well in advance. The games are loud, spirited, and are a great way to get a first hand glimpse of the pride the fans feel for their city.
Despite being desimated during World War II, many of Eindhoven’s historic buildings remain intact. Take a stroll in the city center and down one of Eindhoven’s neighborhoods and see for yourself. While downtown, stop at a cafe for a cup of afternoon tea or coffee, or by a bar for a local pint. Eindhoven’s city center offers entertainment for all ages and interests.
