Earn More American Miles for Best Western Stays

With more than 4,000 hotels in the network, Best Western is among the world’s largest hotel families. So its promotions are always newsworthy.

Below are the details of Best Western’s spring bonus-mile offer. I’ve just been informed that there is a free-stay promotion in the pipeline as well. We’ll review that offer when it’s live on Best Western’s website.

Offer Details

Between February 6 and April 11, Best Western Rewards members can earn up to 1,000 bonus American AAdvantage miles for every qualifying stay, as follows:

  • 500 bonus miles for the first stay
  • 750 bonus miles for the second stay
  • 1,000 bonus miles for the third and subsequent stays

Rewards members must have their earning preference set to AAdvantage miles to earn the bonus. (In addition to the bonus for stays, new Rewards members who enroll in the program during the promotion and choose American miles will earn a 250-mile sign-up bonus.)

There’s no limit to the number of bonus miles that can be earned during the promotion period.

Registration is required.

Deal or No Deal

Unlike some current hotel promotions, which require two or more nights to qualify for a bonus, this offer applies to each and every stay. Good.

Best Western Rewards members normally earn 250 miles per stay (not so good), so the extra miles represent a significant boost, especially for multiple stays. Good.

The offer is in effect for a relatively short period, limiting potential earnings. Needs improvement.

While AAdvantage miles are among the most desirable loyalty currencies, they don’t represent much extra value to partisans of other airline programs. Good for some; less so for others.

Overall, this is a solid offer for Best Western customers who collect American miles.
