It’s like a reverse super-hero—a seemingly mild-mannered grandmother transforms into a drunken brawler in the air after hitting the Duty Free. The Herald Sun reports that a 58-year old woman, who was flying a domestic Australia flight to visit her grandchildren, become unruly about an hour into the flight after drinking duty-free alcohol aboard the plane.
The grandma allegedly yelled profanities at other passengers and the air crew, punched seats, and then punched another passenger. The cabin crew attempted to restrain the woman with three child safety seatbelts, but she began banging her head against the seat in front of her, and the plane had to be turned around for an emergency landing.
Unfortunately, drunk and angry are not mood choices offered by Air Baltic. The Huffington Post reports that the airline will be offering passengers a selection of three flight moods: “work,” “business talk,” or “relax.” Pick one, and get paired up with a seatmate in the same mood.
Got a problem? This budget airline doesn’t care—and no, it’s not RyanAir, shockingly. AOL reports that Japanese Skymark Airlines announced that its cabin crews will not listen to any in-flight complaints from passengers, will not help stow bags, and that the cabin crew was only there for safety reasons, not to coddle passengers.
