Disney World: My Favorite Place

My family was going to the happiest place on earth-hooray for Disney! My parents, grandparents, little sister, and two cousins. Austin and Cody (my cousins) had never been on a plane and were a bit nervous as we arrived at the airport. As we eagerly and a bit anxiously waited to board the excitement of everything kicked in. I was 10 and the trip was for my birthday. My sister, Megan was 5, Austin was 11, and Cody was almost 15 and we were going to Disney World for 2 weeks - wow! I couldn't wait. My family and I had been the year before but this time my best friend Austin was going with me. I was so happy. Below is the poem that I wrote about Disney World for a PTA reflections contest. My favorite place on earth you see is Disney World with my family.

I love to go to Mickey’s house

Often called the House of Mouse.

Everything here is big and wide

And really, really fun inside.

The Hall of Presidents is really great

The fireworks are all first rate.

The Haunted Mansion is real cool

Donald Duck acts like a fool.

The food, the fun is everywhere

Happiness is in the air.

Families come from near and far

Jasmine hides from the evil Jafar.

I love the characters big and small

Hook and Pan, I love them all!

Buzz from the future and Woody from the past

Oh this place is such a blast!

Disney World is for people of all ages

At Animal Kingdom there are no cages.

Animals roam free and clear

They are all up close to see and hear.

You can have breakfast with Mickey at the restrauntosaurus

Then have a picture in an ancient forest.

The tree of life is one cool 3D movie

The special effects are really groovy!

Ride the waves at typhoon lagoon

Head to Epcot and see the moon.

Soarin’ is a brand new ride

Try it, come in, look what’s inside.

Honey I shrunk the audience is fun

Off to MGM when you are done.

At MGM you see movie stars

There is a parade with fancy cars.

Roller coaster with Aerosmith

This you do not want to miss.

Lights, camera, action at MGM

Don’t close your eyes you’ll miss Auntie Em.

These are just a few very special things

Get back to Magic Kingdom before midnight rings.

At Cinderella’s castle witness Tinkerbell fly

She floats effortlessly in the evening sky.

Laughter and fun are everywhere

Oh how I wish that I were there. I think it’s how Heaven must be

But don’t just take my word you see.

Go there soon and get there fast

Make memories that will last and last.

Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma too

There’s so very much for us all to do.

I love it best, it’s my favorite place

The happiest place on earth is in one great big space.

This says it all about the best trip ever! I hope that it makes you want to take your family there too!
