Like other Scandinavian countries, Norway sees the most visitors during the summer, which experiences long periods of sunlight every day, up to 24 hours in the north. The dark winter months are the best time to see the Northern Lights, although this season is generally less busy. However, January through mid-April is a busy time for snow sports enthusiasts, particularly from Denmark, Sweden, and other European countries.

Weather Information

Due to the Gulf Stream, coastal temperatures are mild both in summer and winter. Inland temperatures, on the other hand, are relatively mild during the summer, but it gets very cold in the winter. In general, summer temperatures hit the high 70s in the south and upper 60s in the north. Rain can be frequent much of the time, especially in the higher elevation areas. Winter weather is very snowy and windy, particularly in the mountain areas, with temperatures dropping below freezing.
