Delta customers need deeper pockets

If you’re a loyal Delta flyer, chances are you’ll be paying a bit more for your next flight. The Associated Press reports Delta has increased domestic flights by $10 each way, or $20 per round-trip. According to Delta spokesperson Susan Elliott, this latest increase is a result of ever-rising fuel costs.

This is the tenth time an airline has attempted to raise prices since Labor Day—nearly a raise per week, at the rate they’re going. As we’ve reported in the past, not all fare increases become permanent, but with recent events and the cost of fuel, it seems that many will be [% 2464432 | | here to stay %].

We’ll keep monitoring this latest development, especially to see if other airlines match the increase, but I’d say it’s safe to plan on paying a little more for any upcoming flights.
