  • The island of Capri is a short distance from the Amalfi coastal town of Sorrento. One of the most renowned locations in all of Italy, it's easy to get here from Sorrento. A day trip to Capri is very easy to arrange from the shores of Sorrento. Catch a fast boat and prepare to spend a full day.

  • Getting to Capri from Sorrento is easy. Get to the shore by walking down the hill or a short bus ride. Ferries leave from the shore starting at 7:15 a.m. The last boat leaves from the dock at 7:00 p.m. Head for the Marina Piccola. You can buy tickets both in advance and also from the marina. The trip takes about forty minutes. Boats are large so you can find a seat and watch as the island heads into view. If you arrange a tour, this is where you will catch the private boat. Many private touring companies offer hydofoils that can make the trip in less than half an hour.

  • Getting around Capri is easy. There's a funicular from the port that brings you to the main town. At the top, stroll the streets for high end shopping and a chance to enjoy the native lemoncello. Head up the top of the island for a view and then come right back down. You can dip your feet in the toes and enjoy a swim along the blue beaches here. Ferries at the foot of the dock will bring you back home fast.
