We love to travel…a lot. So we always travel on a budget and try to squeeze an extra trip per year by saving money on every trip we book. So when we decided to take a historic our of Dallas, Texas we booked through a travel website as a package, flight, hotel, and rental car. It was a terrific package. We did Dallas in four days for just about $500 per person including airfare, hotel rental car, and sightseeing. I used Groupon whenever I could and booked two tours for the price of one. Also two for one meals, etc. I searched for Dallas deals and all sorts of great things popped up like the Flight museum and Holocaust Museum, and bus tours.
Of course we went to see the sights related to JFK. So we did Dealy Plaza, the Book Depository, and Love Field. I used Groupon for all of it. NOTE: Check the tour companies for available dates before you buy the Groupon!
It was a fabulous trip. We stayed down town in a 4 star high rise hotel, had a Budget Rental Car, and flew on Spirit from Tampa. We also drove up to Fort Worth to the Stockyards and had the best steak we’ve ever eaten.
Most of our meals were fast food, or budget restaurants. We spent very little money while in Dallas as we had the Groupon’s ahead of time. It was a gorgeous city to visit, so much to do and see. Except for the traffic it was the perfect quickie get away for the two of us. We love history so this was a wonderful way to live it.
