  • Some areas in Manchester are more dangerous than others and should be avoided, if at all possible. Some inner city areas to avoid are Moss Side and Rusholme. These locations are areas for crimes of all types, and are not great places to visit.

  • Manchester has a pickpocket epedimic, and thieves can steal wallets without their victims' knowledge. Travelers are advised to secure their wallet via a chain.

  • Stay Clear of Picadilly Station



  • Most metro stations are crime-free, but beware of the Manchester Picadilly Station between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. when the area becomes more desolate and potentially dangerous.
