Córdoba in Spain is known for its love and celebration of flamenco, and it’s definitely the place to buy traditional accessories and clothing for the famous dance. However, you can find a variety of items when you check out the inside tips about the shops, stores and best buys of this city.
Near the Mezquita in Córdoba
The Mezquita is a Mosque Cathedral that attracts viewers from everywhere. As such, you’ll find a lot of little shops located near it just hoping to catch the trade. Jewelry, precious stones, and lots of souvenirs are sold here, so you should be able to find everything you need. The quality of each item can vary though from shop to shop. While many of these shops have beautiful flamenco hats, mantons (colorful wraps), and even guitars, just be careful of the prices. You can often find these items for much cheaper elsewhere. Either be prepared to haggle (which the vendor will likely be happy to engage) or hit several stores to compare prices before making a final purchase.
Specialties and Malls
Leather and olive oil are both recommended as other Cordoba goods to buy here. You can find olive oil throughout the city where you can pick up your favorite variety. Or head to Meryan for all things leather. Everything they make there from key chains to postcards is made with leather. If you’re looking for a more normal shopping experience, the Plaza de las Tendillas is a commercial center where you can find clothing, accessories and shoes. It’s located outside the old town section, and in a more industrial area.
