Traveling to Denmark is a trip you should excitedly plan. To get the most from your trip, here's what to pack before you go.
It is a good idea to pack some nice looking clothing for Copenhagen. People in Copenhagen may not "dress up" but their clothing is very trendy, especially their shoes. Definitely pack comfortable shoes as well: you’ll be doing a lot of walking.
Copenhagen’s climate is generally mild, but no matter the season, it can get very windy and rainy unexpectedly, so be prepared. The weather can change several times in the course of a day. Items to bring:
Clothes to Pack
In the summer you’ll want to have a mix of clothing because it can be quite warm, but misty mornings and evenings can be chilly. Pack t-shirts, lightweight pants and shorts.
Hotels often provide dispensers for body wash and shampoo. If you forget anything, don’t worry, there are places to buy toiletries, or you can ask your hotel if they have some available for free. If you have medications, contact lens or other items you use routinely, make sure you are carrying enough for your trip.
Toiletries to Pack
Don't forget your camera! Take lots of memory cards (or film) for your photos because you’ll be snapping away: Copenhagen is very photogenic. A zoom or wide-angle lens for your smartphone camera will come in handy for getting more professional-looking shots if you don't have a larger camera.
Electronics to Pack
A guide book is very helpful, but if you're on a tight budget in a hurry you can grab a free map from the hotel. Some stores also have them in baskets by the door.
Other miscellaneous items to bring:
Also remember to bring a day pack or folding cloth bag with handles to carry your smaller items while exploring the city. Be sure it'll fit your umbrella, guide book, maps, brochures, camera, snacks and any other purchases you make.
