Continental announced it will add three daily nonstops to Florida from current United hubs in Chicago and Denver. The new routes are:
- Two daily nonstops between Chicago and West Palm Beach
- One daily nonstop between Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale
- One daily nonstop between Denver and Ft. Lauderdale
The new service begins February 17.
In a release, Continental said, “The new flights complement Continental’s existing service to Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach from its hubs in New York, Houston and Cleveland and Continental Connection service, operated by Gulfstream, from Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach to destinations in Florida and the Bahamas.”
This is the latest example of the two airlines aligning their route maps. Last month, the two airlines added a combined 19 routes meant to “optimize the combined route networks of United Airlines and Continental Airlines.” Chances are there’s plenty more alignment, optimization, or whatever you want to call it, still to come.
