Cluj-Napoca Transportation

Both bus and train are inexpensive and easy to take in Cluj-Napoca. You should have no problem getting there from the airport either way.

Bus

Take bus number 31 to get from the bus terminal to the city center. Get your ticket from a little kiosk near the bus stop and validate it in the bus. The next stop is the Cluj-Napoca train station, and the last stop is Mihai Viteazul square in the town center.

Bus number 8 runs between the airport and Piata Mihai Viteazul in the city center. The ride takes around 15 minutes. When you leave the airport’s main gate, the bus stop is about 50 meters to the right. Don’t cross over the road!

Train

It is easy to get to or from Cluj-Napoca by train. The tickets are cheap and can be purchased and printed out from Internet. In Romania, you can purchase train tickets at the stations. In larger towns, you can also buy them at an Agency Office in the city center. In Cluj, you can buy local train tickets all day and international tickets after 1 pm. The price is the same at every station. The Cluj train station is about 3 km from the city center. You can reach it via bus or taxi.

Airport

Cluj-Napoca’s airport is the biggest in Transylvania and the fourth biggest in Romania. It is located about 9 km east of the Cluj-Napoca’s city center in the suburb of Someseni. The Cluj airport is modern and convenient, with an excellent selection of flights to other European countries like Poland, Spain and Germany.
