  • Cherbourg Shopping

  • Located in the northwestern region of France, Cherbourg offers unique shopping experiences. Be sure to experience both its hypermarkets, and its local, outdoor markets.

  • Cherbourg Hypermarkets

  • Cherbourg offers tourists numerous hypermarkets and mega-wine stores where you can purchase quality food and beverages at low prices. Hypermarkets resemble a cash 'n' carry type store, selling many varieties of food and drink. If you’re looking to purchase beverages to store in your hotel room to enjoy on your trip, you can choose from a wide selection beer and wine at a variety of price points. When it comes to wines available in the hypermarkets, there tends to be a huge selection of both colors, sweet and dry varieties, and qualities.

  • Carrefour

  • Don’t miss Carrefour, the biggest shop in Cherbourg. It’s a vast store where you can buy a wide variety of items. Inside, you'll find restaurants and fast food outlets, but be aware that the main store is closed on Sundays.

  • Outdoor Markets and Local Shops

  • If you’re looking for a more authentic shopping experience, Cherbourg has something to offer you as well. Located right behind the Hotel Regence is a maze of little streets with small shops. You’ll also find a local market in the large square in front of the grand theater and in the area around the Church of Saint Trinite. Cherbourg’s local markets are great places to buy biscuits, cakes, cheeses, and of course calvados.

  • Shopping on Sundays

  • The Boulangerie Patisserie is a small shop and one of a chain of many in Cherbourg and into Normandy. It will be one of the only places open on Sundays.
