Although there aren’t many nightclubs in Chennai, you’re more likely to find them at major hotels. Check out the better nightclubs such as Pasha in The Park, Dublin in the ITC Hotel Park Sheraton and Towers, and EC41 namely for being on 41 East Coast Road, but it is only open Saturdays.
Hell Freezes Over (HFO)
One of the best nightclubs around is Hell Freezes Over at the Quality Aruna Inn in Chennai. It’s considered a more upscale nightclub and has a cover charge of 600 to 1000 per couple. They have a great DJ and dancing, so be sure to check it out. No dress code, but you’ll want to wear appropriate dancing and nightclub attire.
EC41 is a Discotheque that is only open Saturdays, but is a really partying place. Sometimes the patrons get rowdy to the point where the police come in and shut it down. There’s no dress code, but you’re better off if you don’t wear sandals there.
Those in the southern part of India love their movies — and little wonder. The very best Bollywood actors come from south India and the movies shown in this region are some of the best around.
