Cebu City Travel Guide

Cebu City Travel Guide

Cebu city is one of the oldest cities in the Philippines and therefore thick with character and history to explore. If you’re planning a trip for some fresh discovery, here is a Cebu City travel guide straight from other visitors who have enjoyed this colorful city.

Hotels

Where you stay during your travels can make or break a trip. After a long, exhausting day of sightseeing there’s nothing worse than having uncomfortable beds to sleep in, an uncomfortable room temperature, or bad service. To help you find the right place to stay, here are some suggestions from previous Cebu visitors:

Radisson Blu Hotel has great reviews and some specific info from its previous guests. With cozy-chic rooms and stunning views, there is comfort and style when you stay at Radisson Blu. The buffet is another highlight, and the hotel is only a 30 minute drive from the airport without traffic.

Another highly rated hotel with tons of charm and character is The Henry Hotel. This hotel is well priced with spacious rooms, and visitors love the buffet breakfast. One visitor warns that taxi drivers may not automatically know where it’s located, but to simply tell them it’s in Banilad near Gaisano mall.

Things to Do

When in Cebu, a favorite activity of tourists is to “island hop” to some of the nearby islands. Olango Island, Virgin Island, Bantayan Island are just a few of the options to explore. Banca Cruises provides fun ways to do this by offering an island hopping tour and open exciting experiences like basking on white-sand beaches, snorkeling, fish feeding, bird watching, surfing, kayaking and more.

Another huge attraction is the beautiful Kawasan Falls. With a restaurant near the falls that serves delicious home-cooked Filipino foods (must try the sweet and sour pork!), it’s hard to find a better way to spend your day. One traveler advises that you plan a little budget for the trip: You’ll need some money for bus fare, table rental, admission fee, balsa ride and a life jacket. With a good place to stay and these starters for your itinerary, you’ll be set for a great experience in Cebu City!
