Mount Etna

Several Baroque palazzi occupy the other three sides: north is Palazzo Municipale (known also Palazzo degli Elefanti), west has Palazzo Zappalà and Palazzo Sammartino Pardo, and south has Palazzo dei Chierici and Museo Diocesano di Catania. The southern side also has Porta Uzeda, one of the old city gates and Fontana dell’Amenano, beyond which is the famous fish market. The centre of the Piazza is decorated with the cherished Fontana dell’Elefante.
