Carnival Liberty makes Ft. Lauderdale its home

The Carnival Liberty is currently a jetsetter, with waterfront homes in both Ft. Lauderdale and Rome. But given the ship’s patriotic nature (you can just tell from her name), she’ll be moving permanently to Ft. Lauderdale beginning in November 2006.

That’s right, the Carnival Liberty will sail year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises from Port Everglades. The six-day cruises will depart on Sundays and call in Freeport, Bahamas; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and Costa Maya, Mexico. The eight-day cruises will depart on Saturdays; the Eastern Caribbean itineraries feature San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas/St. John, U.S.V.I.; Antigua; Tortola/Virgin Gorda, B.V.I.; and Nassau, Bahamas, while the Western Caribbean sailings call at Limon, Costa Rica; Colon, Panama; and Costa Maya, Mexico.

If you want to visit the Carnival Liberty at home in Ft. Lauderdale and on the “road” to the Caribbean, you’ll find prices starting from $459 per person for six-day sailings and $629 per person for eight-day sailings based on double occupancy. Visit Carnival’s website, or call 888-CARNIVAL (888-287-6482) or a travel agent to book.
