Calgary Things to Do
Located at the juncture of the Bow and Elbow River, the Canadian city of Calgary is a popular and highly populated city. Visitors should keep in minds its many attractions and the various things to do in the region.
The Nearby Rocky Mountains
Calgary is approximately 40 minutes from some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Kananaskis Provincial Park, Banff National Park, Yoho National Park, and Kootenay National Park are all easily accessible from Calgary. In fact, each is only between one and two hours from the city. Even if you have only a couple of hours, you can still drive out into the mountains, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the scenery.
Dipping Into Lake Louise
Hiking around Lake Louise at Banff National Park is a very calming experience. No trip to the Calgary area is worth-while without visiting Banff. One of the popular sites in the area is Chateau Lake Louise, which overlooks the waters, but visitors will also find plenty of wildlife in the area. You will also find fresh water springs and plenty of greenery during your stay. The lake is actually entirely man-made, to the surprise of many.
Canada Olympic Park provides activities for individuals and families all year long. During the winter, it is a small ski hill where the kids can learn to ski and snowboard.
