Getting to San Marino: Take the Train to Rimni
Many tourists get to San Marino by taking the bus from nearby Rimni to San Marino. If you aren’t staying in Rimni, first you’ll need to take the train there from other parts of Italy. From Bologna the train trip to Rimni takes about an hour.
Taking the Bus from Rimni to San Marino
Once you’re in Rimni, you’ll find the bus stop across the street from the train station. You can buy your bus ticket at a ticket booth at the train station or at the bus. During high season you can also catch the bus at Mare Beach. Coach Bus 17, the Bellini Bus, runs between Rimni and San Marino about nine times per day. Before you leave, look carefully at the schedule so you don’t miss the last bus.
The bus takes between 45 minutes to an hour and costs about 8 euro. If you miss the last bus, your only option is to take a taxi back which costs at least 40 Euros.
Generally, you need to put large backpacks and other bigger items under the bus. You can keep smaller items with you.
