Aerolines: The Way To Go

There are budget choices and there are luxury choices. If you take the bus, choose a luxury bus, as it doesn’t cost much more and it’s a lot more comfortable. Aeroline costs RM 79 from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. For the money you get a comfortable seat, a meal (choice of vegetarian or non-veggie in advance), a drink and an entertainment system in the seat back – which wouldn’t be great for a long haul but is fine for this length of journey. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The journey takes 5 to 6 hours, and usually (but not always) includes a stop at a Malaysian service station for a toilet break and refreshments. The view can be a bit dull from the bus – miles and miles of palm plantation – so bring a book or something to entertain yourself.

The start/end points are Corus Hotel, Jalan Ampang, KL and Harbourfront Centre, Singapore. It’s not as quick as the plane, but it is comfortable and considerably cheaper, especially now the KL Ekspres has nearly doubled in price.

Air Bus

Save time and hassle and fly to Kuala Lumpur on an air bus. Take Air Asia to fly to Kuala Lumpur and Tiger Airways to go back to Singapore. Air Asia and Tiger Airways are air buses, making it very affordable to cross the country anytime.
