Burgas is among the largest cities along the Bulgarian Black Sea and is an important center of tourism. Given the number of people who visit each year, there are many shops and stores you’ll find at which to do your shopping.
The Many Malls
The Mall Galleria Burgas is among the most popular shopping centers in Bulgaria. Today, it offers extensive entertainment and shopping opportunities. Visitors can take time out to visit the movie theater, which features 10 screens. Meanwhile, the shops at the mall include everything from technology to fashion stores. Visitors can also stop in on Troika Shopping Center, which contains several floors full of cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, and more. Once again, you’ll find plenty of stores that sell anything from jewelry to shoes. The shopping center is located in Troikata Squar,e close to the city fountain.
The Local Shops
Generally speaking, most Bulgarians tend to shop at small, local shops rather than large supermarkets. Still, almost every town has a market that offers only the freshest of local produce. In Burgas, the main city market is located at the far end of Ferdinandova Street. This is a covered market that abounds with colorful displays of fruit and vegetables, mostly from the surrounding countryside. It’s a great place to go to start planning for your dinner. Book lovers will also enjoy Helikon, a local book store. Helikon has branches in Sofia, but Burgas is where the store first began. Of course, most of the books are in Bulgarian.
