My husband is the consummate gardener. For years, I've wanted to share with him a place that was very special to me when I lived in New Jersey - Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, about 45 minutes from Philadelphia.
Since we were heading to my niece's graduation in NJ & would be with family for several days, we decided to take a couple of "us" days, find a bed & breakfast close to Longwood Gardens, & celebrate our wedding anniversary.
After much research, we decided on the Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast in Chester Heights, Pennsylvania, only a short drive from Longwood Gardens. This lovely bed & breakfast, was only a short drive from Longwood Gardens & many other attractions both in the Brandywine Valley & Philadelphia.
We so enjoyed the ambience of this historic home, situated in a lovely quiet area, and were able to relax, unwind & rejuvenate while visiting. We stayed in the Inverness room, and a more comfortable bed, I've yet to find! Gourmet breakfasts were a real treat each morning, provided by our hosts, Ashley & Glenn Mon, in an intimate dining room setting punctuated with cool morning breezes & conversations with other guests that complemented our mealtimes. We would highly recommend this bed & breakfast to other travelers & look forward to a future return visit.
