If you’re heading to Bodrum to shop till you drop, you should know where to start. Here are some tips from travelers who have gone before to Bodrum for shopping.

From swanky boutiques along the marina to souvenir shops in Carsi, you’ll never run out of things to buy in Bodrum. One traveler’s favorite is a silver accessories shop almost beside the mosque near the seaside along the main Neyzen Tevfik street. There you can find silver items like bracelets, rings, and necklaces. There are also plenty of souvenirs and evil eyes at the Carsi, and a big souvenir shop (open sides) along the marina near the castle.

If you’re looking for more high-end shopping, there’s also a cluster of swanky boutiques with designer brands near the marina yacht club.

Inside Tip: If you know how to haggle you can end up getting half off the initial price most of the time, or even less.

Best Buys

Travelers who have visited Bodrum love the little streets around the castle full of souvenir shops, with numerous options, but be warned: at first glance there are many things made in China and you’ll find the usual and classic items like, magnets, postcards, t-shirts, beach clothes and hats, glasses etc. But if you keep shopping you can also find carpets, sponges, handmade sandals, leather products, local sweets (lokums are great!) and the famous evil eye in every possible size.

If you have more time and a kitchen where you are staying, you may want to buy some fresh fish to cook on your own. Keep in mind there’s fruit and veggie market every Friday near the otogar (bus stations) where local farmers come to sell their products. You’ll have plenty for a delicious meal, or a week’s worth of meals! If you’d rather sew or make crafts than cook, don’t miss the cloth market on Tuesdays in the same area.
