  • Blanes Transportation

  • The sparkling resort of Blanes is known as the Gateway to the Costa Brava. Transportation in and around Blanes is easy: here are some tips to ensure your trip is a success.

  • Buses to Blanes

  • There are many buses to and from Blanes from towns and cities along the Southern Costa Brava. From Girona airport buses via the Sagáles/Sarfa company travel daily to Blanes and other nearby towns, with the Blanes trip taking 50 minutes. Buses to Blanes from Barcelona city center leave regularly from bus station Estación del Norte (Estació del Nord) and stop at towns along the way. The time to Blanes is 1 hour 30 minutes.

There is no direct service from Barcelona Airport to Blanes, unless you hire a car. It's best to go first to Barcelona city center, and hop on a bus or train from there (see below).

  • Train to Barcelona from Blanes

  • Trains from Barcelona to Blanes leave throughout the day and take an hour and 15 minutes to Place Catalunya Station or a few extra minutes to Estacio Sants. It's worth the trip for the speed and comfort and for the splendid views along the coastline: the white beaches and blue seas are spectacular.

  • Bus Botanic to the Marimurtra Botanical Gardens

  • Treat yourself to a trip on the open-sided buses that run between Place Catalunya in the centre of Blanes, along the pretty promenade, and up to the lovely Marimutra gardens on the hill. Not only is this beautiful but it saves you a long steep walk. Along the way you will see the shops, beach, port and lots of people!
