Interestingly, National, Enterprise, and Alamo -- the top-three finishers -- are all owned by Enterprise Holdings. Although the three companies have very different images and business models, there's apparently something in the corporate DNA that consumers respond positively to.

The study is a measure of customer satisfaction in six areas: cost and fees; pick-up process; return process; rental car; shuttle bus/van; and reservation process. Results reflect the opinions of more than 12,000 travelers renting from airport locations over a 12-month period.
