Benidorm Things to Do – Attractions & Must See

Benidorm Things To Do

Once a small fishing village, today Benidorm is one of the popular places along the coast of Spain. Safe and lovely, Benidorm makes the perfect summer getaway for all members of the family. The beaches are well-kept, and when you’re not sunbathing, you’ll find lots of watery places to enjoy on land as well.

Regional Beaches

Playa de la Levante is one of two beaches in the city. Levante is a long stretch of white sand that is kept up very well. This is the beach in front of many of the largest hotels in the area. While generally very crowded, especially during the summer months, it has a nice view across the entire area and easy access to the warm waters of the Spanish coast. The second beach is the area is called Playa Poniente. Less crowded than Playa de la Levante, this beach is equally inviting. Come here for a relaxing day in front of the sand with lots of sun and light. Both beaches also have a lot of nightlife, making it easy to sit there and watch as the sun goes down.

Water Parks

Another popular thing to do in the area are lots of water parks. Right outside the city you’ll find Aqualandia. One of Europe’s largest water parks, it makes the perfect place to bring your kids. There’s a very big swimming pool with artificial waves for the entire family. You’ll also find multiple water slides for the more daring members of your family. Right next door to Aqualandia is another fantastic place for the kids. Mundomar is an exotic animal park. You can see several water mammal themed shows with dolphins and sea lions. There’s also lots of animal life to see directly and learn about from guides who know the local area well. Animals you can find here include parrots, bats, seals and a dolphinarium with dolphins for the kids to see in person. There’s also a special children’s park for the little ones to enjoy. Don’t worry about lunch because there’s a cafe on site. You can get a combined ticket that allows you to see both Aqualandia and Mundomar on the same day for the same price. The Aqua Natura is another water park in the area. This one has a huge swimming pool and lots of water rides for kids of all ages.

Other Area Parks

If your kids are tired of the beach, you can also take them Terra Mitica. One of the largest attractions in Europe, the park has lots of shows and plenty of rides for everyone. This makes the perfect thing to see when they weather is a little cooler but you still want to stay outside.
