The Beautiful South Coast of New South Wales, Australia

Author: adelaide501
Date of Trip: August 2004

The beautiful South Coast of New South Wales, Australia is made up of small coastal towns with lovely people and wonderful hospitality.

Highlights:
The South Coast of NSW is a rather long stretch of road. It spans from Sydney down to the Victorian border. The area that I live in is called the Shoalhaven, it is located 100km south of Wollongong. Shaolhaven is famous for its beautiful beaches and wonderful walking tracks.

Quick Tips/Suggestions:
Shaolhaven has many beaches in which you can surf, swim, kayak, snorkel or just stretch out and enjoy the sun. There are many bush tracks in the national parks to explore and picnic at.

Best Way to Get Around:
The South Coast is a very long stretch. Driving is best but you can also book a seat on the coach from Sydney. Within the villages and towns you could utilise the local taxi services or local bus service and there are many walking tracks to enjoy.

Attractions: Nowra’s Wildlife Park
Best Ages for This Attraction: Families, Singles and almost everyone else. Most Fun for Adults: There is a rainforest and cave track to explore. Just remember it is not for the frail or mobility impaired as climbing is essentrial. The view is breathtaking as you can see for miles over the Shoalhaven River.

Price Per Person: Adult:$10, Childrens:$5 and Families:$26.

Favorite Part of the Day: Petting and feeding hours are always a winner with children as well as adults so why not go at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm for the petting and photograph sessions with the koalas or with the reptiles. An absolute winner with all.

Most Fun for Kids: Ithink children would love everything about the Wildlife Park. With animal feeding nice and cheap, everybody could enjoy. There is a playarea with a trampoline and swings so everyone can enjoy.

What it’s like:The Park is very well set up. There is a barbeque area for lunch which is right near the playarea so mum can watch the kids while dad cooks up a storm. There is food for the animals available to purchase and you can get up close and personal with the native wildlife to pet. Stunning views of the Shoalhaven River and surrounding area as a beautiful backdrop, how could you not enjoy it. This park would make a great day out with the family.
