Bari Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Bari Things to Do

There are plenty of activities you can take part in while visiting Bari. But with only a limited amount of time, you need to know the best attractions and activities. Here are the top things to do in Bari.

Basilica di San Nicola

There is something special about religious architecture. These buildings often get the largest monetary investments from towns, which is why there are so many exceptional constructions around the world. The same is true in Bari. The Basilica di San Nicola was constructed to house the remains of St. Nicholas, so the church received an even greater attention to detail than other towns and villages in the area. Whether you are religious or not, this is a great destination to check out.

If you’re able to get out of town for the day, this is an excellent day trip. Located around 50 KM away, you’ll see some very interesting ancient architecture. The construction is truly unique and you won’t see it anywhere else. it is located on two individual hills, which at one point was split apart by a river but now the two are seamlessly pushed together.

Borgo Murattiano – District

This is the highlight of style and money with regards to architecture when looking at the history of Bari. It showcases a variety of classical architectural styles, so if you are a fan of architecture, this entire district is a must. Just walking through the district will make you feel like you’re walking through an art gallery of historical architecture. So from the Mincuzzi Palace to the Piazza Umberto I, it is an incredible area of the city.

Trani is an incredible destination that has been around since the third century. It is a sea harbor that presents a great opportunity to stroll down the ancient boardwalk. So show up early, sip on a beverage as you sit by the water, and enjoy the smells and sun. There’s really nothing not to like about visiting Trani.

This daytrip town is also known as the “White Town.” The entire town is painted white and is a spectacle you need to take in to truly enjoy.
