Barcelona – What to Pack – Clothing and Supplies Tips

Barcelona What to Pack

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia in Spain. While extreme temperatures are rare, it’s still important to pack for the season.

Luggage

No matter what you have planned for your Barcelona adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Winter Clothing

Winters can be very cold,  so visitors are advised to bring a warm jacket. Other good items for a comfortable winter visit include an umbrella and comfortable boots.

Summer Clothing

Summer time in Barcelona can be hot and humid. If you are planning on visiting any of the cities famous churches pack at least one outfit that covers your knees and shoulders. While not all of the churches have a dress code, it is still a sign of respect.  While many of Barcelona’s streets are shady, sunglasses and a hat are still recommend. Also, do not forget the sunscreen.

Clothes to Pack

Shoes

Barcelona and Porto have cobblestone streets that can potentially be painful to your feet. As a result, comfortable shoes are advised to anyone visiting. Barcelona is a town for walking, so make sure that your shoes are comfortable. Shoes with flat soles are recommend on cobblestones.

Extras

A city as picturesque as Barcelona must be captured on film or digital media. There is lots to photograph, so bringing a camera from home is advised. You will find many exciting sites to take pictures of in Barcelona. Also, consider that even most first class hotels in Europe have no universal sockets.  American devices with the standard two-pin connectors won’t function in European sockets, so you’ll want to bring along adapters for all of your electronic devices. Forgetting to do so could leave you with dead cell phones and cameras.
