The Apes
One of the main topics of interest is, obviously, the apes here. However, you definitely need to be cautious around them. Various tourists and locals have all said the same thing about these outstanding animals. They are very cute and can be extremely friendly, however, it is not advised to feed them and you will find multiple signs stating this. Not only is it inadvisable due to the rising number of ape bites, but in some areas, it is illegal as well. Don’t feed the apes!
You should also keep your personal belongings close to you and in hand or tucked away, as the apes have been known to snatch your belongings from you, one visitor even noted that an ape snatched her wig!
You should also keep a safe distance from them, as they may be friendly and native to the area, but are not pets or animals that should be touched. As stated above, they will bite and can become aggressive if they feel threatened in their natural environment.
