Along with great skiing and beautiful scenery, Austria offers visitors plenty of nightlife and something for everyone.
Cheap drinks and a young crowd make for a great night out at the Aussie themed Travel Shack. The Havana Club plays Latin dance music and draws a mixed crowd from 18 to 50. For traditional Irish food, and a good beer selection, try The Four Bells. A high cover and strict dress code keep the crowd a little more upscale at Club Cosmopolitan, The White Line, and The Bachelor Club. Minimalist decor, great cocktails, a relaxed clientele, and soft music make Kix a great place to relax and kick back. The trendy Summer Stage overlooks the Danube, has indoor and outdoor seating, and serves both Asian and Mexican cuisine. The kids will love the Prater Amusement Park that boasts a giant ferris wheel, ghost trains, merry-go-rounds, go-cart rinks, and several arcades.
Most of the Salzburg nightlife is located along the river Salzach on the Altstadt side. Shamrocks and O’Malley’s, right next door to each other, offer the traditional Irish Pub experience. The rich and famous enjoy nightly performances at the Salzburg Opera house. Nightly shows at the Landestheatre Salzburg include plays, musicals, operas, and ballet.
For hip-hop, go to The Couch Club every Thursday night. Gamblers play roulette, blackjack, and slots at the Innsbruck Casino located next to the Hilton. Krahvogel serves excellent food in a relaxed pub atmosphere. A cross between an Irish country pub and the traditional Tirolean Stuben, Limerick Bill’s has a great atmosphere, but expensive pints.
